Sage 50 UK - Pre-installation & Connection Checklist

Sage 50 UK requires the following to connect to Quadient AP:

• Dedicated administrator user

• ODBC Driver

Dedicated Administrator User

Creating a dedicated administrator user ensures that SmartSync connects correctly to Sage 50 UK. Using an existing administrator user may cause sync errors as the account may not be configured correctly. Follow Sage 50 UK's guide to create the user.

ODBC Driver

Lists and list items are imported using Sage 50 UK's Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) driver. Follow the steps provided by Sage to install the driver. Once installed, open ODBC and create a data source for each legal entity:

1. Go to System DSN.

2. Click Add.

3. In the Data Source Name field, enter the Sage 50 UK company name and version number.

4. In the Data Path field, enter file path to the company's ACCDATA folder.

5. Click OK to complete the set up.

Please note you must recreate the ODBC data sources each time Sage 50 UK is upgraded to newer version.
